About Guru MAA (Dr. Rupa Mahanty)

Dr. Rupa Mahanty is a traditional Reiki Grand Master who has been working with Reiki for more than 15 years, both in the area of healing as well as in empowering people in Reiki thru courses that certify them as Reiki 1st Degree and 2nd Degree therapists. She also helps them in the healing of individuals by counseling them so as to enhance their belief in themselves and to bring about their well being at the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual levels.
An MBA from IIM Calcutta, she is a Management Consultant by profession, the lead consultant of her consultancy organization, R.M. Associates, with 30 years of experience in the corporate world. She is the Founder and Chairperson of Kudy Mahanty Chirens' Opportunities (KMCO; www.kmcotrust.com), a Registered Charitable Trust focused on the well being of needy children. All her earnings from Reiki are donated to KMCO. Fond of working with people, she is closely associated with several organizations, both corporate and social, where she contributes actively as a member of their Managing Committees. Besides this, she enjoys several inerests; flying being one of them, she is a licensed pilot; a trained Yoga instructor, keen on physical fitness and weight training, she enjoys travel and adventure and believes that life is a series of opportunities to be enjoyed and learned from.
At the time of receiving her mastership, Dr. Mahanty's intention in Reiki was to spread knowledge of this healing power in two particular areas namely, the corporate world and the less privileged ; both these intentions have been fulfilled as described in the earlier paragraphs. Dr. Rupa Mahanty is a registered medical practioner, certified by the "Indian Board of Alternative Medicine" in affiliation with the "Open International University for Complementary Medicine" established under the World Health Organisation in 1962.
